Flyte is the beginnings of a fantasy story and world, developed over the course of 12 weeks. I adore fantasy, but often find that people often tend to fall back on the same old fantasy stereotypes we grew up with rather than fleshing out new and interesting worlds, myself included.
I wanted to put myself to the challenge of building an original fantasy world that is fresh and interesting through research and purposeful design decisions. I wanted this project to be a chance to draw and research and draw some more and find ways to reinvigorate my own love for fantasy, as well as show my process to inspire others to do the same.
This was my major project for my final year of my Bachelor of Design degree. The full book is on display at Exposure 2018, from the 3rd to 17th of November.
